The College of Business at Arkansas Tech University, accredited by
AACSB, has a faculty opening for a full-time, tenure-track
Assistant Professor position to teach undergraduate courses in
finance, including financial management, investments, financial
institutions management, and real estate, with a starting date of
January 6, 2020, or August 2020.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge - understanding of academic discipline and teaching
• Knowledge – utilize a wide range of software and applied
techniques related to finance.
• Skills – organization, leadership, communication.
• Abilities – responsive, collegial.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the
College of Business.
• Engage students in high-impact learning practices.
• Advising students on academic and career issues.
• Develop a sustainable scholarship program including seeking
external funds to support the program.
• Provide impactful departmental, college, university, and
professional service to the university, community and state.
Ph.D. or D.B.A. (or ABD with completion within six months of
starting date) in Finance or a closely related business field from
an AACSB-accredited institution. Ability to develop a sustainable
research program that could incorporate undergraduate students.
Evidence of teaching excellence at the university level and
commitment to continuous improvement in teaching, mentoring, and
working with undergraduate and graduate students.
Demonstrated abilities in finance, particularly financial
management, investments, financial institutions management, and
Experience with online instruction.
Record of scholarly activity and strong research interests in
finance and/or evidence of recent consulting relating to
Commitment to creating and fostering industry relationships.
Eighteen or more graduate hours in Accounting or Data
